Technical Product Compliance Specialist

Technical Product Compliance Specialist

Do you want a global role where you help millions of consumers choose safe and sustainable products? And are you keen to work with a dedicated team of compliance experts?

Join us on a mission to improve and reinforce ECCO's dedication to environmental, social, and governance principles, making a significant and positive impact by ensuring we comply with global regulatory standards and requirements for the products we sell across the ECCO group.

We sell our high-quality products globally, and complying with local and regional regulations is key to our commercial success. The area is developing quickly, with environmental considerations at the centre. This is something that we care deeply about, as we craft and export the footprints of the future,” shares VP Pia Yasuko Rask.

Focus on global regulatory standards and requirements
At our headquarters in Tønder, you will join a team of four colleagues, with one based in Portugal. Together, you spearhead ECCO’s compliance efforts. The team includes a senior chemical compliance specialist, a product compliance consultant focused on primarily waste and packaging, as well as a group environmental specialist focused on compliance in tanneries, factories, retail spaces and offices.

As our new specialist, you will be conveying the technical standards, specifications and requirements for our products to relevant internal stakeholders. This includes checking and confirming various technical features of products to meet the safety, quality and performance criteria of the relevant regulations and standards.

In close collaboration with both your team and other departments, you will:

  • Ensure that compliance is part of the product development processes
  • Manage product compliance for import and export
  • Arrange testing and certification activities, including audit and inspection support
  • Assess supplier compliance
  • Keep compliance documentation up-to-date

The role also requires risk assessments and internal training on compliance issues. Working on a global scale, supporting and empowering local sites, this role will take you travelling approximately 30 days a year.

A cooperative attitude and carefulness
With a great knack for cooperation, you work closely with colleagues across teams, department and borders to enable our business to stay compliant and competitive.

And as a seasoned team player combined with a holistic business acumen, you can combine your meticulousness with a sense of perspective, take reasonable risks when needed and plan a gradual path to compliance.

Furthermore, you probably have a background that includes:

  • A relevant bachelor’s degree, for example in engineering, chemistry, law or regulatory affairs
  • At least 3 years of experience in product compliance
  • Knowledge of applicable regulations/ standards, such as CE, RoHS, REACH
  • Good organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills – with high accuracy and attention to detail
  • Capable of working autonomously in a dynamic environment
