Senior Automation Engineer

 

What we are looking for

We are seeking an experienced Senior Automation Engineer with a specialization in manufacturing equipment and processes. As a key member of our team, you will lead the design and development of automated systems to enhance efficiency and precision in our manufacturing operations. You will be part of the building, leading and developing a new department consisting of software engineers and technicians.

Job profile

The ideal candidate will bring expertise in creating innovative solutions for machinery, production lines, and facility layouts. Knowledge in polyurethane processing systems is a plus but not a requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of automated systems for manufacturing equipment, production lines, and facility layouts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate automation seamlessly into our manufacturing processes.
  • Design and implement automated solutions to optimize production workflows and increase overall efficiency.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior automation engineers in the context of manufacturing automation.
  • Evaluate and recommend automation tools and technologies tailored to manufacturing needs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to automated manufacturing processes and systems.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand manufacturing requirements and translate them into effective automation solutions.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in manufacturing automation technologies.

Job Tasks

  • Develop automated systems for manufacturing equipment using PLCs, robotics, and other relevant technologies.
  • Integrate automation solutions into the manufacturing process, ensuring a seamless workflow.
  • Conduct thorough testing of automated manufacturing systems to validate functionality and performance.
  • Provide expertise in the selection and implementation of automation tools specific to manufacturing needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure the integration of automation into the manufacturing infrastructure.
  • Analyse and interpret results from automated manufacturing processes, working with teams to address identified issues.
  • Create and maintain documentation for automated manufacturing processes and procedures.
  • Lead training sessions and workshops to share manufacturing automation knowledge within the team.

Requirements

  • University Degree (Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Automation or similar)
  • At least 5 years in industrial environment experience
  • Innovative thinking and continuous improvement tools and methodologies
  • Engineering and machinery oriented - layout, efficiency, automation solutions
  • Leadership and communication skills
  • Fluent in English
