Product Owner

Would you like to impact our data platform and BI products? And would you like to ensure Scrum ways of working are integrated even further into the backbone of our two experienced data platform and BI development teams?

Joining us, you not only get to work on the latest technologies and have great colleagues welcome you into a dynamic and collaborative environment. What is more, this is a role you can help shape yourself as you join an organisation ready to empower you to explore your ideas and see where they take you.

"Not only will you collaborate with talented developers and our business stakeholders to find innovative solutions to complex problems. But you also get to see how the solutions add value and make a difference in our organisation as we work to become more data-driven" explains Senior Manager, Head of Data Office, Nicolai Støttrup.

Translate business needs into data platforms and BI products
Joining the ECCO’s Data & AI department at our hub in Copenhagen, you will be the Scrum Product Owner for two Scrum teams within the Delivery & BI team. Each team consists of data engineers, BI architects, and BI developers (5 and 8 team members, respectively, most based in Poland).

Together, the 2 Scrum teams play a central role in developing datasets essential to ECCO's operations and our journey towards becoming a more data-driven organisation. By developing our common data platform and BI products, the teams enable insightful analytics and help inform decision-making across the organisation.

Their work supports daily operations and drives strategic initiatives that enhance ECCO's competitive edge in the market.

As the Scrum Product Owner, you will:

  • Develop and communicate a product vision aligned with ECCO’s OKRs and Data & AI goals.
  • Own the product and sprint backlog, product goal, and product roadmap.
  • Facilitate sprint planning and review, prioritise resources, and ensure timely delivery of increments.
  • Foster continuous improvement by integrating feedback from reviews and retrospectives.
  • Facilitate communication between Scrum teams and business stakeholders by ensuring roadmap alignment and managing dependencies.
  • Provide stakeholders with product updates, timelines, and outcomes to ensure continuous business value.
  • Further integrate and develop Scrum ways of working in the Scrum teams.

The teams already work with Scrum, but we need you to champion the principles and get them even further integrated into the core of both teams” – Nicolai.

Experience from a similar role in a Data Platform or BI Development Context
You are known for your ability to prioritise tasks to maximise business value while managing stakeholder expectations. Also, you have great communication skills and know how to navigate a cross-functional environment with competing business objectives.

We also imagine that you:

  • Hold a degree in engineering, business, IT, or have equivalent experience within a Data Platform or BI development context.
  • Have 3+ years of experience as a Scrum Product Owner, Scrum Master, or similar within Data Platform or BI development.
  • Possess a solid understanding of developing and delivering data platforms and BI products to business stakeholders.
  • Navigate confidently in MS Azure DevOps or Jira.
  • Are fluent in English.

Familiarity with technologies such as GitHub, SQL, Snowflake, and Power BI is a definite plus, but not a strict requirement.

First interviews are scheduled to begin in week 33 of 2024.

Are you ready for your next challenge?
We will invite candidates for interviews on an ongoing basis, so do not hesitate to apply.
