Senior Retail Accountant m/f/x

Job purpose

 

We are looking for a skilled, proactive, and well-organized Senior Retail Accountant to join our Financial Service Center in Warsaw. As part of our high-performing team, you will play a critical role in supporting ECCO’s financial operations while helping to build the company’s image by providing excellent services.

As a Senior Retail Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate reconciliation and reporting of financial transactions related to sales, cost of goods sold (COGS), and stock management. You will act as a key liaison between store managers and the finance/logistics teams, supporting audits, financial closings, and reporting requirements.

In addition, you will support the Team Leader in coordinating daily activities, driving process improvements, and ensuring knowledge sharing across the team. As a senior member of the department, you will serve as the first point of contact for team members, providing guidance, support, and expertise in day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities

  • Posting and reconciliation of Sales and COGS.
  • Stock reconciliation.
  • Cash and credit cards reconciliation.
  • Cooperation with the store managers during stock takes.
  • Contact point for stores for financial/logistic processes.
  • Support store audits and annual financial audits.
  • Close the accounting periods in accordance with ECCO group closing calendar, policies and procedures.
  • Prepare the additional reports to support business needs on the monthly/weekly basis for all units within the ECCO group
  • Create new ideas to improve processes and take active part in continuous improvements/project activities.
  • Support the Team Leader in coordinating daily operations and ensuring smooth execution of team responsibilities.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for team members, providing guidance, knowledge sharing, and support in resolving operational issues.
  • Proactively identify risks, process inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement, driving initiatives that enhance quality, accuracy, and operational efficiency.
  • Act as a subject matter expert within the Retail Accounting area and contribute to maintaining high-quality service standards.

 

Requirements:

    • Practical experience in accounting in international company or SSC (3+ years)
    • Experience in retail accounting will be an advantage
    • Good knowledge of SAP.
    • Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) will be considered a strong asset.
    • Advanced MS Excel skills.
    • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently.
    • Deadline and quality-oriented.
    • Keen to learn and develop professionally
    • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain high-quality standards in a dynamic environment.
    • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
    • Proactive mindset with a continuous improvement approach and the ability to identify and implement process enhancements.
    • Willingness to take ownership and drive initiatives independently.
    • Ability to support, guide, and share knowledge with team members
