Establishing the GBS is a global project, where all transactional accounting processes are gathered into regional Business Centre’s in Americas, Europe, Asia/Pacific and China.

The European Business Centre is based in Warsaw and Amsterdam where experienced  accountants and specialists will provide bookkeeping and accounting services for more than 30 European ECCO companies.

Role purpose:

The Credit Controller is Member of the Credit Control team, comprising one team lead and one senior (Both based in Amsterdam) and five credit controllers (2 AMS, 3 WAW) who handle the daily operations for EMEA region.


Role can be segmented into three main parts; Collections, Risk Assessment and Accounts Receivable with tasks ranging from customer/colleague engagement to ensure timely payment or dispute resolution, review of credit limits for new or existing customers and account reconciliation while maintaining ECCO’s Credit Policies.

 

Responsibilities

  • Analysis of the credit worthiness of each customer; Set the credit limit and payment terms in relation to the Credit Policy
  • Maintain the age profile of own portfolio per agreed KPI’s through use of available platforms and resources
  • Build and enhance internal relationships with Customer Services, Sales, Master Data and Cash Management to effectively resolve customer disputes
  • Timely escalations of disputes to reduce risk of aged debt or delayed stock release
  • Dunning runs and dispute management via ECCO’s collections tool
  • Implement and maintain payment agreements, such as pre-payment, bank guarantees and payment plans in collaboration with sales and end customers
  • Managing the transfer of bad debt accounts to the Legal credit representative
  • Daily release of orders, which are held at a system level due to credit exposure
  • Reporting the accounts receivable aging and overdue
  • Direct Debit processing and follow-up on any rejections
  • Approval of account changes in collaboration with Customer Services and Master Data
  • Any other duties deemed necessary by the Team Lead to improve the Credit Risk Portfolio

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a related field
  • Relevant experience (2 years) in in a Credit Control Function
  • Experience in wholesale industry in an international company or SSC serving multiple countries will be an asset
  • SAP experience required
  • Experience in using Service Now or alternative platform
  • Proficiency in the use of Excel
  • Outstanding administration skills
  • Knowledge of OnGuard/IController preferred
  • Fluent communication skills in English (Spanish language skills will be an asset)
  • Quality and deadline oriented
  • Team player with good communication skills
