Role purpose:
We’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Controller to join our finance team. In this role, you’ll help make sure our financial reporting is accurate and on time. You’ll work with teams across different countries and support compliance tasks, including working with external service providers. Responsibilities:
Monthly Closing & Reporting
- Support monthly closing activities, ensuring financial data is accurate, complete and submitted on time in line with ECCO GAAP and internal procedures
- Collaborate with finance and non-finance teams across multiple countries to ensure smooth and timely reporting
- Assist in monthly financial analysis, helping to explain and document key variances
- Cooperate with General Ledger and Retail Accounting teams to ensure the closing process runs efficiently
- Participate in the Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation process, supporting reconciliation activities and helping maintain the quality of supporting documentation
Compliance & External Collaboration
- Coordinate local reporting and tax-related tasks (VAT, CIT, other taxes) with thesupport of external service providers and advisors
- Assist in preparing statutory financial statements in collaboration with external accounting firms
- Help prepare statistical and regulatory reports with a support of external partners
- Participate in and coordinate internal and external audits; assist with documentation and process reviews
- Research accounting topics to ensure compliance with relevant standards and internal policies
- Support and monitor internal control activities, ensuring compliance with company policies and control frameworks
Process & Business Support
- Contribute to improving and documenting accounting processes and internal controls
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities together with the Business Control team
- Take part in projects focused on process standardization and harmonization within the R2R area
- Identify opportunities for automation and digitalization to improve efficiency.
- Assist in implementing new financial tools and workflows that support better reporting and control
Requirements:
- A degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Accounting (GL/R2R), Controlling or a similar role
- Experience in working in an international company or SSC serving multiple countries
- Knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS) and financial reporting
- Familiarity with VAT, CIT and statutory reporting
- Proficiency in Excel; SAP or other ERP systems
- Fluent in English (spoken and written); other languages are a bonus
