As an People & Culture Advisor, you will act as a trusted HR partner for our Dutch retail teams and management. You will advise on people-related matters, support local implementation of HR policies, and contribute to strategic HR initiatives.
Your working week is flexible and varied: some days you work at our Amsterdam office, others from home, and you frequently visit our stores across the Netherlands to stay closely connected to the business.
Your Key Responsibilities:
· Advise retail manager on HR topics such as performance, absence management, development, and employee relations.
· Provide coaching and support to store managers in building strong, engaged teams.
· Be present in the field regularly to ensure visibility and practical support, conduct regular store visits.
· Contribute to recruitment processes and onboarding programs in collaboration with the retail team.
· Implement and improve local HR policies in line with ECCO’s global strategy (P&C handbook and policies).
· Ensure HR compliance with changes in Dutch employment legislation and adherence to Dutch labor law.
· Identify trends and propose solutions to improve engagement, productivity, and retention.
· Participate in projects related to employee experience, culture, and learning & development.
· Managing budgets, accruals and employee benefits.
· Participate internal and external audits.
· Ensure compliance with health and safety policies, monitor legislative changes, and communicate updates effectively.
Who are we looking for?
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
· At least 3 years of relevant HR experience, preferably in retail, hospitality, or another fast-paced sector.
· Strong knowledge of Dutch employment law and HR practices.
· Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust quickly across all levels.
· Self-starter with a pragmatic, hands-on mindset.
· Fluent in Dutch and English (written and spoken).
· Willingness to travel to stores throughout the Netherlands.
· Strong communication skills in both Dutch and English.
