Mechanical Engineer to join our Applied Research Team
Located at the ECCO Leather HQ in Dongen, we are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Applied Research in a newly generated position.
Applied Research ECCO is looking into sustainable solutions reducing water consumption, solid waste & energy within the Tannery. With the new R&D Pilot High Pressure Autoclave up and running soon we want to achieve an alternative solution for conventional water processes in the Tannery, reducing Water & Solid Waste. Needless to say within the same Leather Quality Performance ECCO Leather stands for. This in order to reduce our environmental impact in alignment with our Company Sustainability Targets.
Position description:
We are looking for someone to learn the R&D Pilot machine and getting the full machine understanding. Up to a level to tackle challenges and further improve the machine. As a result from all learnings you will be part of the Design Phase for a Full Scale Production Machine.
Daily tasks include:
• R&D Pilot Machine
o Machine learning
o Testing of various chemicals, parameters Parameter / Settings
• Self-initiate adjustments and solutions to problems that arise
o Tackle challenges on the R&D Pilot Machine
o Improve R&D Pilot Machine
o Based on learnings be part of the Design phase for a Full Scale Production Machine thinking off:
Manufacturability
Service Life
Mounting options
• Communicate & Follow up with Maintenance department.
• Communication of relevant findings to multidisciplinary team and other internal & external stakeholders.

For you to succeed in this position it is important that you are a hands-on professional with a mechanical background passionate about process innovation in a production environment.

As this position is very specialized, we envision a background as
• Minimum Bachelor or Master Degree Mechanical Engineer
o Multi-Machine Engineering
o High-Tech Engineering
o Energy, Flow & Process Technology Engineering
• Preferred within the field of High Pressure Autoclaves and or Fluids, no must.
• Preferred 3-5 years of experience in related field, no must.
