We are looking to fill our Global Product Costing Business Partner for Global Costing Department in our shoe production factory in Ayutthaya, Thailand.
Job Summary:
The Global Product Costing Business Partner is a strategical and critical position within the Global Product Costing Team, responsible for driving proactive cost optimization and enhancing collaboration between Development and Design teams through quality costing data and informed decision-making.
This role is pivotal in increasing product costing data visibility, quality, and comparability to guide decisions without compromising the design intent or product integrity as defined in product briefs towards an optimized product costing.
The Business Partner will work across departments to integrate collections planning and roadmap into the costing process, thereby increasing efficiency, quality, and reactivity. The role requires a deep understanding of the dynamics between Category Managers (CM), Design, and GDE, focusing on providing data-driven insights that enable these teams to find the best solutions for cost optimization while maintaining the intended price-to-value ratio and product integrity.
Key Responsibilities include:
Strategic Cost Optimization & Cross-Department Collaboration
• Collaborate with CM, Design departments to provide data-driven insights to support cost-effective design decisions.
• Integrate costing considerations throughout the product development process.
Costing Reviews
• Actively support preparation and participate in cross-department costing reviews to ensure pro-active alignment and optimized costings
• Contribute to A1, range building and slot conclusions costing processes throughout the development process
• Provide feedback during proto review stages to ensure product integrity and cost-efficiency are maintained.
Collections Planning, Roadmap & New Collection Directions
• Integrate collections planning and roadmaps into the costing process to enhance efficiency and quality.
• Focus on the costing-oriented impact for new collections, providing accurate data to guide development.
Continuous Improvement & Documentation
• Identify areas for improvement within costing processes and support the implementation of best practices.
• Support accurate documentation of processes.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize the overall costing process.
Job Experience & Requirements
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, Product Design, or a related field
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a similar function, preferably within footwear or a related industry
• Demonstrated experience in cross-functional collaboration
• Strong involvement in design, prototype, and costing reviews
• Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
• Strong business understanding and commercial insight, with the ability to use sound judgment in decision-making
• High ability to manage time and prioritize projects to meet deadlines
• Strong adaptability to changing work environments and the ability to effectively deal with change
• High level of motivation, engagement, and persistence in driving results
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
• Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, with a focus on continuous improvement
• Proficiency in data analysis tools and familiarity with PLM systems
• Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies is an advantage
• Familiarity with ERP systems and costing software is an advantage
