Global Health & Safety Specialist

Want to help shape an even safer, healthier future for ECCO’s global teams?
As our new Group Health & Safety Specialist, you’ll be part of ECCO’s Corporate Responsibility & Sustainability team, working to ensure that our people from tanneries to retail stores across the globe can thrive in safe and supportive environments.

Champion Health, Safety & Fire Safety across our global footprint
In this role, you’ll be instrumental in developing and implementing ECCO’s health, safety, and fire safety frameworks across our operations. You’ll work with units worldwide to ensure compliance with regulations and internal policies, while promoting a proactive safety culture.

You’ll also lead ECCO’s chemical approval process, ensuring safe handling and substitution of hazardous substances, and contribute to cross-functional projects focused on employee wellbeing and exposure reduction.

You’ll be joining a global team of 15 professionals working across sustainability, human rights, product compliance, and chemical management. We guide ECCO’s sustainability agenda, ensure regulatory compliance, and support progress on key commitments. Operating as a central function in a matrix organisation, we collaborate across units and regions to build capacity and drive strategic goals.

You’ll collaborate closely with local EHS teams across ECCO units, supporting fire safety surveys and helping strengthen capabilities through training, communication, and ongoing guidance. You’ll also help track of progress toward group-level targets and KPIs, ensuring alignment while respecting local ownership.

What success looks like
Within your first year, you’ll be:

  • Developing a deep understanding of ECCO’s organisational structure and operational landscape.
  • Establishing strong relationships with our international network of EHS managers across various manufacturing units.
  • Leading a strategic reassessment of our Health & Safety objectives for 2030.
  • Reviewing and improving procedures to enhance safety performance and compliance across all sites.

Due to the nature of this role, you must expect international travel up to 60 days a year, engaging with our diverse teams and environments.

What You Bring – And What You’ll Grow Into
We’re looking for someone with:

  • Familiarity with ISO45001, NFPA/FM/EN fire safety standards, and chemical regulations like CLP and EU-REACH.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, chemistry, or similar.
  • Certifications such as NEBOSH diploma or equivalent fire safety credentials.
  • 5+ years of experience in health & safety coordination, ideally in a global and/or manufacturing setting.
  • Strong English communication skills and proficiency in Excel and databases.

If the role excites you, but you don’t tick every box, we’d still love to hear from you. We value motivation and the potential to grow.

A place to belong and make a difference
At ECCO, we craft products with pride and care deeply about the people who make them. You’ll be part of an international organisation where innovation, sustainability, and craftsmanship are part of our DNA.

Here’s what you can expect:

  • An impactful role in shaping ECCO’s health and safety culture.
  • A collaborative, informal work environment.
  • Opportunities for lifelong learning and career development.
  • A chance to work across borders and cultures.

Take the next step in your Health & Safety career
We review applications on an ongoing basis, so don’t wait too long to apply.
