OVERALL OBJECTIVES
The Financial Control Team Leader is responsible for managing the regional financial controllers team which is responsible for accounting, reporting and compliance matters within the region. Furthermore, the role will be responsible to coordinate and drive the standardization and harmonization agenda and collaboration within R2R process as well as outside the function. The person is responsible for providing financial advice and support to the Business Controllers, Finance Directors to enable them to make sound, country specific business decisions. The Financial Control Team Leader will lead, manage, develop and coach the Financial Controllers in the region.
Tasks and responsibilities
- Lead, manage, coach and develop the financial controllers’ team in the region.
- Work closely with GPO on further process improvements and coordinate standardization and harmonization opportunities
- Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
- Make sure the correctness, completeness, accuracy and timeliness of the monthly reporting
- Coordinate with various departments (both finance and non-finance across the region) to ensure financial records are accurate and completed in a timely manner
- Close collaboration with GL and Retail Accounting Team Leaders and making sure that the R2R processes run efficiently
- Coordination of the preparations of tax returns and statutory reports
- Coordination of the timely submission of annual statutory reporting
- Coordination of the external and internal audits processes
- Drive and coordinated completeness and timeliness of In Control and Compliance activities in R2R area
- Supporting Business Control in Budgeting and Forecasting processes
- Ensure accounting consistency and integrity in accordance with ECCO policies
- Develop and maintain effective communication, interaction, and excellent relationship with GBS and non-GBS internal stakeholders
- Act as trainer/ coach for junior team members
Requirements
- Master degree in Finance,
- Professional Accounting Qualification (such as ACCA/CPA) or country equivalent education is a plus
- 10 -15 years’ work experience ( in operational roles + minimum 5 years of as team leader/ manager)
- Background/experience in Retail business a plus
- Big 4 background a plus
- Expertise in taxes accounting area and statutory financial statements a plus
- Person full of passion with ability to influence and communicate in the efficient manner
- Comfortable working in dynamic and constantly changing environment, change management skills
- Ability to work with multinational and diverse teams as well as senior management of the company
- Tolerant, open, thick skinned, resourceful and self-starter
- Working experience in SAP
- Fluent in English (both verbal and written)
- Dutch working entitlements are required.
