Fit Testing Specialist - ECCO HQ, Bredebro

Do you want to combine biomechanics, human movement and product development to help shape the fit and comfort of footwear used by people around the world?

At ECCO, we are looking for a Fit Testing Specialist to join our Group Quality team, part of our Global Development & Engineering organisation. In this role, you will help ensure that our footwear delivers the comfort, fit and performance that ECCO is known for. Working at the intersection of science, testing and product development, you will turn data and user insights into recommendations that shape future products.

Help turn fit insights into better footwear
As our new Fit Testing Specialist, you will become a key contributor to ECCO’s fit testing activities. You will work closely with colleagues across Innovation, Design, Technical Development and technician teams to plan and conduct fit testing programmes, analyse results and provide recommendations that support product development.

During your first months, your focus will be on learning ECCO’s fit testing methodologies and standards. Over time, you will take ownership of the process, contribute to optimisation initiatives and become a trusted sparring partner for development projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and executing footwear fit testing programmes with internal and external participants.
  • Conducting fit, comfort and biomechanical assessments across footwear categories.
  • Analysing gait, movement patterns and footwear interactions to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Supporting product development teams with recommendations related to fit, sizing, materials and construction.
  • Preparing reports, maintaining testing data and contributing to the development of ECCO fit standards.

Bring curiosity, persistence and a specialist mindset
Success in this role is about how you approach your work. You enjoy diving deep into a specialist field, are motivated by continuous learning and have the persistence to investigate details until you find the right answer. You are confident in applying your expertise and recommendations, while remaining open to new insights and perspectives.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds a master's degree within biomechanics, movement science, sports science, biomedical engineering, ergonomics, rehabilitation science or a related field.
  • Has a genuine curiosity about human movement, foot anatomy and footwear performance, and is excited to build specialist expertise in fit testing.
  • Has a sharp eye for detail and enjoys working methodically with testing, analysis and data.
  • Is confident drawing conclusions from evidence and standing by professional assessments when providing recommendations.
  • Brings persistence, a continuous improvement mindset and enjoys working through complex challenges to find the best solution.

Experience with human subject testing, data collection or fit-related assessments is an advantage, but we are also open to candidates early in their careers. If you are excited about the role but do not meet every requirement, we would still love to hear from you

Join a team dedicated to quality and continuous improvement
You will join a collaborative environment where knowledge sharing, curiosity and craftsmanship go hand in hand. Together, you will work to ensure that ECCO footwear lives up to the highest standards of fit, comfort and quality. As you grow into the role, you will have the opportunity to take greater ownership, influence the future of fit testing at ECCO and potentially develop into a global advisory role over time.

The role is based at ECCO HQ in Bredebro and requires an onsite presence. Please note that we are unable to offer relocation support for this position.

Ready to shape the future of footwear fit?
We encourage you to apply, even if your experience does not match every qualification listed. We review applications on an ongoing basis, and the position is open until we find the right candidate.

For questions about the role, feel free to reach out to Group Senior Director, Group Quality, Philip Rydhard, on pry@ecco.com.
