eCommerce Content Specialist and Designer

The e-Commerce Content Specialist/Designer will lead the content creation, implementation maintenance, and front-end design for a dynamic and high-growth B2C Commerce Cloud e-Commerce website.  Focusing on online campaigns, email marketing, and various digital assets that support the brand’s premium online presence in the US market. Responsible for enhancing online presence through exceptional creative design and rich/engaging SEO optimized content to increase site visitors, revenue, and online brand engagement.

As our e-Commerce Content Specialist/Designer, your responsibilities will include:


  • Content conceptual development, creation, implementation and maintenance for e-Commerce business unit, including but not limited to: e-Commerce website, emails, online banners, video, content SEO along with content scheduling and publishing to live site. Individual will work within the brand standards to maintain a premium brand image and experience.

  • Collaborate with e-Commerce team to identify content needs and create content based on collection stories, seasonal campaigns, and the monthly promotional calendar, with the expectation of a dynamic and changing e-Commerce environment in order to react to the marketplace and to ensure sales goals are met.

  • Front-end site design projects, updates, from conception to test/launch using e-Commerce platforms.

  • Work with Site Merchandiser and e-Commerce Marketing Specialist to create content schedules and strategy for homepage, category landing pages, and market relevant trending pages throughout the season.

  • Email marketing content and development using ESP with collaboration from Site Merchandiser.

  • Adhere to ECCO brand standards across all online properties and ensure a consistent look based on brand and style guidelines.

  • Publish content and responsible for review in staging and production environments including quality assurance testing for new website features.

  • Remain current with emerging digital technologies and e-Commerce, online and email marketing best practices.

  • Website front-end design for B2C website – concepts through testing and launch.

  • Focus on mobile initiatives to increase consumer engagement and conversion through A/B testing of content and messaging both on site and through email campaigns.

  • Collaborate with the e-Commerce team on ways to leverage Predictive Intelligence, through content on-site and email campaigns for a more targeted consumer approach.

  • Create email marketing templates, campaign content, HTML coding, and campaign tracking/tagging using best-of-breed email marketing platform. Individual also takes ownership over email marketing vendor/relationship and supporting day-to-day efforts such as email list management, A/B testing, and scheduling of email campaigns.

  • Continually monitor websites in a proactive manner to ensure that information is accurate, current, and error-free.

  • Contribute to the overall creative process and production process to establish best-practices and content standards.

  • Strong expertise in SEO best-practices with a focus on SEO optimized content.

  • Ability to design micro-sites, editorial or blogs should the need arise (mock-ups and light programming).

  • Creative and on-brand copywriting for online campaigns.

  • Create dynamic, segmented content to target consumer groups through the storefront and via email communications.

  • Collaborate and share content results with global e-Commerce markets to identify and leverage key findings to help improve the overall shopper journey.

  • Review and maintain product images for upcoming seasons and new product additions.



If you have…  


  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in communications, design and/or interactive media – or equivalent work experience.

  • 3-5 years in interactive/e-Commerce content experience.

  • Proficient in Photoshop, HTML, CSS, Microsoft Office, and Java Script is preferred.

  • Experience working with content management system and e-Commerce platform tools. Commerce Cloud (previously Demandware) is preferred.

  • Experience working with email marketing tools.

  • Experience working in apparel, footwear and/or premium brand is a plus.

  • Superior spelling, grammar, and attention to detail to produce error-free content is required.

  • Must be organized and self-driven to maintain high productivity.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline driven growing e-Commerce department. 

  • Experience working in a busy e-Commerce department on the client / agency-side.

  • Must be creative and passionate.  Must be dynamic, self-motivated and comfortable in a changing and demanding website content position.  Must have the ambition and desire to continuously learn and the enthusiasm to bring new ideas/concepts, formats and approaches forward to maintain freshness and an innovative edge.

  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects on tight deadlines

  • Exceptional communication and organization skills.

  • Ability to read, write and speak English at a proficient level.

  • Ability to travel up to 10%, both domestic and/or international.
