ECCO Graduates 2024

ECCO Graduate
Join the ECCO Graduate Programme

Fill your career shoebox with exposure to different business areas, commercial awareness and a global network.
The 2-year ECCO Graduate programme offers you the opportunity to kick-start your career. As a Graduate you will be exposed to all sides of our business – becoming a leather and shoe maker, experiencing our retail organisation, learning from inspirational colleagues and on-the-job learning. The aim is to give you as nuanced a picture as possible, so you will be pushed out of your comfort zone to work in three different areas of the business. This could be everything from Finance to Merchandising, Supply Chain to Sales, with at least one rotation abroad. During your rotations, you will be responsible for a set of operational tasks, but with the opportunity to take on more responsibility, depending on your performance. Meanwhile we will supplement your learning with soft- and hard-skill development through workshops and business cases, supported by leaders..

Are you ECCOs’ future Graduate?
It might surprise you to know that the key attributes we look for aren’t necessarily the grades, academic theory or experience you may have, but your personal competences. Here’s the thing… you can have all the great grades and academia required, but if you aren’t able to apply what you’ve learnt in a real-world situation and adapt, continue to learn and grow from life-long experiences, then what’s the point?

In our opinion, the following are most essential:

  • A curiosity that willingly takes you outside your comfort zone
  • A desire to learn by doing and to understand different areas of the business, rather than commit to one area from Day 1
  • Being ‘stress smart’: common sense, the ability to think on your feet, adapt to any given situation and make it work. Being able to support and facilitate change
  • Fitting with our corporate values and a global mindset (and global mobility in the short- and long-term)

The typical ECCO Graduate does not come with a lot of work related experience, when started on the Graduate Programme, but are about to graduate or have graduated their high school, Bachelor or Masters degree within the last two years.

If you’ve got the above, don’t worry – we can teach you the rest.
