DTC IT Systems Specialist

The DTC IT Systems Specialist will join the infrastructure team which consists of globally located support specialists, and together they will be responsible for the global delivery model.

 

The main responsibility is to be 2nd and 3rd level support for store infrastructure related issues or questions (in the local time zones) and to be the primary contact for the stores as needed (and in some cases to help out in other time zones as needed).

 

Further this role will be focused on delivering the DTC IT activities, projects and rollouts timely and professionally to the markets in the Americas region and to provide the markets with support in terms of the delivered solutions.

 

This role will be responsible for the execution of the infrastructure within DTC IT and will constantly strive to achieve operational excellence, cost efficiency and rock-solid stability and scalability.

 

This role will communicate and coordinate with other information technology professionals and business/function leaders to ensure appropriate solutions and timely support is given.

As our DTC IT Systems Specialist, your responsibilities will include:

  • Responsible for the configuration and installation of all current and future DTC IT hardware and software.
  • Provide expert level support of ECCO Americas DTC core technology needs and troubleshoot hardware, software and connectivity issues.
  • Participate in the planning of the execution of upgrading existing information technology and the introduction of new information technology to support the business.
  • Build, install, configure, analyze, tune, and troubleshoot DTC IT infrastructure.
  • Participate in Global and/or Market evaluation, rollout and training of new Point of Sales software.
  • Active monitoring of infrastructure and data flow between systems.
  • Resolve difficult system problems and provide user consultation or training.
  • Configure systems based on approved designs of the system and network security.
  • Manage hardware and to some degree software for installation, modification, troubleshooting, maintenance, and upgrades of operating systems and server environments.
  • Periodically provide feedback from the markets in the Americas to line manager. 
  • Focus on continuous improvement and take complete technical ownership of operational issues, fixes and change requests.
  • Work proactively with the markets in the Americas and engage on all levels, including engage with the business to collect and clarify business context and requirements.
  • Work toward a balance between growing the agility required to achieve business objectives and ensuring the S&I functions are reliable, stable and efficient.
  • Document systems infrastructure for users, support and consulting personnel, and developers.
  • Configure, implement, and maintain system security strategies, policies, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other members of DTC IT to ensure that our services meet operations requirements for both internal and external clients and ensuring that standards for consistent documentation are met. 
  • Plan and control overview of own tasks and keep records of systems updated. 
  • Ensure successful IT change management including testing, quality assurance, documentation, knowledge sharing and handover to sustainable operations.
  • Execute tasks independently and consult relevant colleagues for more complex requests and scenarios.
  • Perform knowledge sharing with members of the Support teams.
  • Participate in technical service and installation activities at ECCO locations including on-call and after-hours support as needed. This will include nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Work productively as a team member and focus on the execution of the plans and targets of the infrastructure team.
  • Gain understanding and optimize knowledge application of business user tools; integrations and order management solution/3rd party vendors.
  • Provide support to all ECCO Americas stores, eComm, and DTC activities.

 

If you have…  

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business or relevant field or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in an IT support role.
  • 2+ years of technical experience in Retail POS support is preferred.
  • Experience with a global organization is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in working in complex environments and the ability to focus on customer requirements.
  • SAP experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of driver installment and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to manage shared resources and perform moderately complex tasks.
  • Ability to train others in applications and operating system fundamentals.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work calmly and effectively in pressure situations and manage time effectively in a changing environment.
  • Strong conceptual and logical abilities and strong planning and project abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, support activities and tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to effectively work and create effective partnerships with employees at all levels within the ECCO organization.
  • Basic understanding of IT processes (ITIL).
  • Ability to read, write and speak English at a proficient level, ability to speak French and/or Spanish a plus.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%, both domestic and internationally.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. on a periodic basis.
