Demand Planner

Overall objectives
Within the Amsterdam Regional HQ, the Demand Planner is an integral member of the EUROPE S&OP team and is responsible for all demand planning duties including estimating future product demand, analyzing inventory flow, and developing forecast models.
The Demand Planner is accountable for consolidated EUROPE demand plans, monitoring a timely and accurate Forecast update from the markets, providing an input to the Regional Supply Planning and S&OP.
Based on historical data, trends, sales performance plans and inventory levels, the Demand Planner will develop the EUROPE forecast, address any potential risks and opportunities to Markets and share the feedback with EUROPE and Global stakeholders. 
The Demand Planner will be expected to collaborate with Market Sales teams, Europe S&OP team, Europe Product Management team, Finance organization and other EUROPE and Global stakeholders.

The Demand Planner is accountable for the Europe Forecast Accuracy KPI and drives relevant process improvement activities on Europe level.

Next to that, strong interpersonal skills are essential to effectively interact with all teams, areas and levels of business. Therefore, we need someone with proven ability to build and maintain productive cross-functional relationships.

You have proficiency in planning and understanding of the financial and operational impacts. Furthermore, you are self-motivated and you have an interest in working with detailed and complex analysis. Finally, you possess the ability to learn new systems quickly, you can multi-task, you have a “can-do” mentality and the ability to travel (domestic and international) as needed.


  • 3-8 years’ work experience in Forecast Control, Demand Planning, Supply or Sales & Operations Planning or Merchandising (preferably in the footwear industry)
  • Experience with forecasting tool(s)
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain process flow
  • Strong interpersonal skills are essential to effectively interact with all teams, areas and levels of business
  • Proficiency in statistics, planning, forecasting and forecasting methods with an understanding of their financial and operational impacts
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office is required, including Excel (macros, v-lookups, pivot tables, complex formulas etc.)
  • Experience with Power BI is an advantage
  • Experience with an ERP system; SAP is preferred
