Data Compliance Risk & Tech Specialist

Would you like to be part of enabling the development, implementation and maintenance of ECCO’s global data compliance activities – all while joining a brand new team?

Your role will be vital in safeguarding ECCO’s data assets in an ever-changing regulatory environment. Because you will ensure that we have a license to operate at all times based on data so we can meet our overall business goals.

You’ll be part of setting a new standard and framework for an area that’s a priority for the entire organisation, allowing for you to really utilise your full skillset” explains Head of Data Compliance Office, Group Director, René Overvad Olesen.

Set a new bar for how we work with data protection
At our HQ in Bredebro, you will become part of our newly established and growing Data Compliance Office within Group Legal. The core focus of the office will be on ensuring that ECCO is able to adapt to and comply with existing and new data regulations impacting ECCO not only in Europe, but at a global level.

In this setting, you will be an important part of our data compliance and data protection initiatives. Specifically, you will ensure that technological literacy and an appropriate risk and controls framework are embedded in our Data Compliance Programme as well as in the daily support to the organisation.

This means that the core of your role will be to:

  • Ensure that our data compliance activities are always founded on a well-defined risk framework with appropriate risk and impact assessment procedures
  • Ensure that privacy by design and other data compliance standards are always embedded in the technologies used in ECCO
  • Support the incident and data breach management processes within the organisation
  • Build awareness of data compliance requirements within ECCO
  • Build and maintain inventories and mapping of ECCO’s processing activities, vendors, assets and data flows in formats which support regulatory requirements
  • Conduct risk, impact and legality assessments to ensure that our operations are lawful and within acceptable standards
  • Support and guide the entire organisation in projects and daily matters involving data compliance aspects

Experience within data security and compliance

Data compliance requires a cross-functional approach and engagement of most parts of our global organisation. So, it is important that you can work with all parts of the organisation and have discussions about our data compliance programme to bring it to life in our daily processes.

It requires you to stand your ground, advocate for this area of work and guide your colleagues within our data compliance programme.

Finally, we imagine that you:

  • Have a master’s degree within e.g. law, business law, business administration and auditing or similar
  • Hold extensive experience working with information security, data governance, privacy and/or data compliance
  • Have a profound business understanding as well as technological literacy, understanding complex IT configurations and implementation of IT solutions
  • Perhaps have hands-on experience with building and implementing compliance programs or with IT security auditing
  • Are fluent in English

You will join an international organisation with the full value chain, allowing you to immerse yourself in your field of expertise on a global scale. And in a multicultural setting, you will be sure to enjoy ample career opportunities – whether locally or internationally. With us, there is always room to take a new step in your career.
