Category Lead Global Procurement - Professional Services & HR

Are you ready to be responsible for the quality of our global procurement activities within Professional Services and HR? And do you want to set the commercial scene for how we work with our suppliers and internal stakeholders within PS & HR globally?

Then join us to build this category lead position.

You really make an impact because of the significant spend and complexity within your category. And you won’t just have to settle into a set of processes – you’ll be an important part of forming them yourself” says VP Group Procurement, Thomas Haumann Christensen.

An exciting mixture of category management and strategic procurement
You will join our newly formed Global Category Management team with 13 other category leads. These category leads are spread out geographically, mainly across Europe and in Singapore. We imagine that you will be based in Denmark since Group HR is located there, but some of our other major ECCO office locations are a possibility as well.

As category lead you will lead a team of buyers in a matrix structure in which the buyers report into the different ECCO entities. Your main responsibilities will be supplier relationship management, contract negotiations, and supplier performance evaluations. And to:

  • Develop the procurement strategy as well as demand and supply market analysis in collaboration with HR and procurement management – and ensure that the strategy is executed globally
  • Set a team of local and/or global ECCO buyers and other stakeholders for each new tender – be it a new global agreement or a regional/country agreement
  • Act as lead on major tenders within the category and the set direction for how smaller tenders/negotiations are conducted
  • Assist colleagues in developing tender documents and contracts and ensure close and productive cooperation with our suppliers
  • Provide management and other stakeholders with recommendations on supplier relations and future business opportunities

Experienced purchaser with solid people and negotiation skills
You master the exciting but also challenging art of assisting various stakeholders in reaching an agreement without compromising our global strategies. Your excellent people skills can build relationships, develop buy-in, and obtain commitment from all levels in the company.

You are enthusiastic about centralising our current setup and face the task with a creative mindset. We furthermore imagine that you:

  • Have some years of experience with strategic procurement
  • Have managed your own category before, not necessarily HR – even though knowledge of the field would be an advantage
  • Enjoy working with various stakeholders from all around our global organisation – especially when it comes to change management
  • Speak and write English fluently – Danish is an advantage, but not a requirement

Are you ready for your next challenge?
We will invite candidates for interviews on an ongoing basis, so do not hesitate to apply.

For additional information, you can reach out to Thomas Haumann Christensen, VP Group Procurement on +45 7491 1625.
