We lead the global data science and OR initiatives and capabilities across ECCO Group and drive an ambitious strategy to fundamentally improve how ECCO operates based on data. This means working with the entire value chain – from logistics and sales to marketing, pricing and store operations.
As an Operations Research Scientist, you will, together with 4 colleagues, develop, implement and deploy tailor-made decision support applications for prescriptive analytics. You will be working with the leading cloud technologies, using the latest prescriptive analytics platform tools such as OR-Tools andSpark, and optimization solvers like SCIP and Gurobi.
In this role, you will:
- Meet with business area owners to understand the business challenges and translate those into mathematical optimization problems
- Design and build tailor-made optimization-based decision support applications, using appropriate toolchains and programming languages
- Solve large-scale mathematical optimization problems within acceptable operational time constraints
- Work closely with advanced data teams to productionalize solutions, ranging from real-time to strategic applications
- Document mathematical optimization applications in accordance with business frameworks

We seek a colleague who are always interested in learning new technologies and ways of working. And if there’s something you don’t know, we are the perfect place to learn it. We imagine that you:
- Hold a master's degree or higher in operations research, computer science, software engineering, applied mathematics or related fields
- Master optimization-based mathematical modelling and solving large-scale optimization formulations
- Have strong experience working in Python
- Have experience with optimization solvers such as Gurobi, CPLEX, SCIP or related tools
- Can translate diffuse and complex business requirements into functional criteria and actionable tasks
- Hold exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to influence technical decisions in a fast-moving environment
- Are effective in managing multiple priorities and conflicting requests to meet goals
- Hold strong oral and written communication skills, articulately communicating raw insights into plain language stakeholders can understand
